Each work of art is hand cut and hand hammered in Haiti from a recycled oil drum. The following steps are taken:
Workers begin the process by cutting off the tops and bottoms and burning out the residue from discarded steel drums
Removing the lids Burning out the barrel A supply of barrels waiting to be prepared
They then split them down the side, sanding and pounding them flat. Artists then either by freehand or stencils begin drawing their design onto the prepared steel.

Various sized chisels and hammers are used to cut and shape the piece, giving it form and texture.
A clear coat is applied to most pieces allowing them to also be utilized outside without rusting.
